Eight months ago,I was laid off by my company. It seems a bad time. But I decided to do something that can pay me more than the offer by my last job. I searched the web for any business that I can do. I tried to apply franchise for Mcdonald & Kentucky,but there is no feedback. At last,I applied a franchise for self-storage & the result was OK.
The self-storage was open in Aberdeen,Hong Kong 6 months ago & now it is almost full despite there are a total of seven self storage in the region. The business is good & the income is steady.
I think the following factors determine whether you have a good business or not:
1) marketing: try to do you marketing so it is best if everyone in the region knows that there is a self storage nearby.
2) the rent is competitive,else the business will go to your competitor.
3) keep the self storage clean & tidy.
4) Be friendly & with a warm attitude with your customer.
I think my situation applies to every cities in the world. Last,I used the laid off package to start this business.
This self storage bring me a steady income monthly. Unlike stock market which fluctuate alot recently. Investing in self storage can make you much more comfortable. You dont have to worry about the fluctuation in the stock market. You can be quiet in your mind,you have plenty of time to start you next self storage or you can start another kind of business. I am planning to start my internet business. And now I am ready most of the time while I am in the self storage.
